Since 2005 there´s one important date for every model railway fan from Saxony and beyond – the „Erlebnis Modellbahn“ at the Dresden exhibition centre.
When the Model railway club of Pirna decided to organise an exhibition of that size, no-one knew how successful this concept would be. Because of the surprising record of 12,500 visitors last year, the exhibition area was doubled to 6000 square metres.
For the first time Realsteam models of the Minibahnclub Dresden will be shown. Furthermore the topic will be to experience model railways not only in action but also how they are build. A playground area for children as well as known traders of the branch will fullfill every family members wishes.
Of course the „Realsize Trains“ will be represented by our local clubs and organisations, as well. Discover our area by a historical train during your next stay!

On 13th February 1945 bombers of the Royal Air Force and the United States Army Air Forces destroyed the historic city centre of Dresden during World War II. This attack was not one of the most severe ones during the air war in World War II. However, the destruction of Dresden became a symbol in history of the senseless destruction of war.
Still today historians argue how many people actually died during the attack. And the wound, which was ripped into the consciousness of the Dresdeners, has not healed until today.
After 66 years a lot of the “Old Dresden” has been rebuilt and impresses visitors just as much as 70 years ago.
Every year on 13th February Dresden not only remembers the victims of this very attack, but all victims of National Socialism and the Second World War, which started from Germany. Everyone is called to create symbolically a human chain. The human chain expresses the common will of the Dresdeners, their remembrance, avowal for freedom, democracy and human rights.
For a cosmopolitan city.
Against violence and xenophobia.
