Thematic Tours: Dresden in the time of Reformation
As a proud Dresdner, it would be a great pleasure for me to be your competent tour guide and to introduce you to the rich history and culture of ‘The Florence on the Elbe’.
Following my studies in Theology, History of Saxony, Modern and Contemporary History at the Universities of Dresden and Jerusalem, I worked in the fields of archeology, history and theology. With my education and experience, I am able to offer you an in-depth look into all points of interest, not least the mythology of Dresden.
I am looking forward to introducing you to my fascinating hometown!

Our guide(Claudia) was wonderful. She was so friendly and easy to talk to as we went through some of the most beautiful areas of Dresden. She answered all of our questions and left us with recommendations for things to do during the remainder of our time here.

Always good to start with a walking tour
12€ per person for about 1.5 hrs. The meeting point is at 2:30pm at the stairs indicated on their website. The key is, the sign for the tour and the guide are just around to the right of the bottom of the stairs as you face them. It’s kind of easy to miss with all the activity in the square there. Claudia spoke good English and presented us with an efficient overview of the city and it’s interesting history. We saw many sites that we felt were covered sufficiently we didn’t have to return to them. A walking tour is such a great way to get your bearings when just hitting a new town, am comfortable recommending this tour.

The guide was very knowledgeable and provided excellent commentary.
The guide had extensive experience having lived most of her life in Dresden. She was able to provide a historical perspective on each element of the tour. She was willing to share her opinion on a range of issues and went out of her way to make the visit informative and stimulating. Her recommendations on further activities were excellent.

“Great history lesson”
I took the tour on the 10th Oct and loved it! My guide (sorry I’m bad at remembering names) was brilliant, friendly, very passionate and was able to answer all our questions.
Dresden is a beautiful city and I’d highly recommend it and this walking tour. Thank you so much!!

Excellent Introduction to Dresden
I took a private tour of the old city with Claudia. It lasted 2 hours. She met me at my hotel promptly. She is very professional and passionate about the history and architecture of Dresden. We covered a lot of ground at a pace that was comfortable for me. She was very flexible and willing to answer all of my questions. I highly recommend a tour with Claudia and feel the cost was worth it since I was in Dresden for one night and wanted to get the most from my visit. Claudia has the ability to focus on what is significant and share in a clear and concise manner.

Dresden Old Town and Johannstadt
We had two outstanding tours from Claudia of Dresden Walks. The first was of the old town, the second was a tour of the Johannstadt area with a focus on socialist (GDR) architecture. Claudia was extremely knowledgable, speaks excellent English, and has a good pace both in terms of walking and narrating. She did a great job of tailoring the tour to our needs. This was part of a program for US college students and we were able to design a tour in advance that fit our specific wishes. She listened to what we wanted, came up with a meaningful tour, and was flexible enough to adjust where needed during the tour. I would highly recommend her for large groups as well as for smaller groups or individual tours. All around excellent!
