Dresden 1945: the new Panorama picture of Yadegar Asisi in the Panometer
Since January 24, 2015 and until May 31, 2015 can be seen in the Panometer the new panoramic image of Yadegar Asisi. It shows a 360 ° view of Dresden on February 15, 1945. So 2 days after the devastating bomb attack that characterizes the city of Dresden until today. This panoramic image will be on display from now on every year around the February 13 memorial day.
One can see not only all of the Old Town and the surrounding neighborhoods, but here you can also get a comprehensive overview concerning the content. All the many aspects, fates and stories of the bomb war are considered and one looks metaphorically far beyond the ruins horizon. Here you can learn a work exemplary for mankind’s history of violence.
When we visit reconstructed historic Dresden today, there is no longer any direct reminder of the Second World War or the destruction of the city. And so the DRESDEN 1945 Panorama is aimed at a wide audience, allowing them to participate in the visual memories of the city, to remember and to put those memories into context.
