The Christmas Garden in Dresden Pillnitz

The magical journey in the Christmas Garden Dresden-Pillnitz begins at dusk.

From 14 November 2018 to 6th January 2019 the Pillnitz Palace Park will be, for the very first time ever, the venue for a breath-taking illumination inspired by the great success of “Christmas in Kew” in the Royal Botanical Gardens of London.

The approximately 2 km long tour with 20 light installations creates an enchanted world with a fairy-tale landscape and a sea of mesmerising lights. The visitor dives into this dream world of Christmas motifs created from millions of lights and illuminations filled with Advent music and culinary delicacies. The Schloss and garden Pillnitz with its Chinese inspired architecture, rare botanical specimens, pavilions and greenhouses in the English and Chinese gardens is particularly suited to the theme and thus the perfect backdrop for this concept.

The renowned lighting designer Andreas Boehlke from Berlin and DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG are responsible for conceptualizing the lighting and illumination. In addition to the Botanical Gardens in Berlin and Stuttgart, this is the first time the Christmas Garden is being presented in Dresden.

The Christmas Garden Dresden is open daily from 16:30 to 22:00 (except 24th and 31st December). The tickets are available for staggered admission times so that every visitor can enjoy the walk in peace and quiet and without crowds (there is no time limit after admission until the park closes at 22:00). Family tickets are available and children up to 5 years of age are free.
