Things to do in Dresden in February

There is more to February than Valentine’s Day. Especially if you are in Dresden. There are things to do aplenty in addition to the usual staggering choice of museums and their ever changing exhibitions, the concerts, the operas, the open air markets, flea merkets etc. But below are some actvities that are special for February. Needless to say- these are in addition to taking a guided walk with us!

The big Carnival party

on the 9th February in the charming brewery Brauhaus am Waldschlösschen from 6.30 pm onwards. There will be a DJ, dancing, drinks and a fantastic party mood. Entry only 6.6 €

King TutThe great exhibition ‘Tutankhamun – His grave and his treasures’

has been shown in various locations around  Europe and has been visiting Dresden since October 2015 and is on till the 28th of February only. This is a once in a lifetime insight into the archeology of ancient Egypt. See the recreated burial chambers and treasures of the king exactly as they were discovered by Howard Carter in 1922.

An accompanying unique exhibition about the life of the excavator presents significant documents alongside sumptuous watercolours by the archaeologist using highly realistic facsimile technology. Many of the pictures and papers in the “Carter Room” have never been shown before in museums.
